Daniel's Mommy Makeover, Domestic Violence and Smoking Cessation Prior to Surgery
Finding one's confidence after being a victim of domestic violence is a journey. On Episode 3 of Atlanta Plastic on Lifetime, Danielle shows just how far she's traveled to reclaim her life after enduring physical abuse and losing hearing in one ear at the hands of someone she once loved. Danielle wanted her outside appearance to match her inside appearance and a Mommy Makeover was her procedure of choice. She had a silicone breast augmentation to fill out her breasts and an abdominoplasty with liposuction to contour her waistline and rid herself of excess abdominal skin.
During our consultation I found out that Danielle smoked cigarettes. It was imperative that she stopped smoking for at least 3-4 weeks prior to surgery and refrain from smoking for at least 6 weeks after surgery. Smoking cigarettes or using any nicotine containing substance can decrease the blood supply to the tissues as they heal and result in open wounds, poor scarring and even capsular contracture in breast augmentation patients. Danielle was able to quit smoking in time for surgery which will also improve her health.
The recovery time for her Mommy Makeover was approximately 2 weeks. She wore a compressive garment for 6 weeks and was able to resume exercise after 4 weeks. She looks and feels amazing and her inner beauty is shining through!
